Today was the last day of the Cabo San Lucas Whale Watching Season, and what a wonderful 2011-2012 season for whale watching trips it was! Our guides, Peter and Janneke are VERY pleased to report that our guests saw whales on every single one of our tours! This success is unique in the whale watching industry, and a result of our captains and guides efforts to ensure all of our guests the best experience here in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

On behalf of our guides, Janneke and Peter, we would like to thank all the guests who chose our uniquely fun and informative tours. This was their first year guiding whale watching tours in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. There are other more established companies here offering tours to see the whales, but Peter and Janneke are the only marine biologist/professional photographers and the glowing Trip Advisor reviews reflected their dedication.

During the 2011-2012 whale watching season in Los Cabos, our guests encountered mostly Gray and Humpback whales. Often both species were seen on each 2 1/2 tour! We did see some other species of whales, including the Sperm and Fin Whales and Orca. There were many whale watching trips that encountered dolphins and porpoises out in the Sea of Cortez. One of the reasons we always start our tours explaining that as 75% of the known cetacean (dolphin and whale) species are found in the Sea of Cortez, you just never know what we will see.

Another reason we would like to express our gratitude. Peter and Janneke spent many hours cataloging images taken of the Humpbacks. These digital photographs of the Humpbacks tails are being shared with whale research and conservation organizations in British Columbia and Alaska. Working together with these other organizations, we hope to more accurately identify the lives and specifically the genetic vulnerability of the northern Pacific Humpback populations. So a BIG THANKS! to all our guests for supporting our whale conservation efforts here in Mexico.

So in conclusion to the Los Cabos whale watching season for 2011-2012, we would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of you who made our first year running whale watching tours in Cabo San Lucas such a great success. We hope that the wonderful encounters we shared will stay with you for a long time, at least until you come back to see some more amazing whales in Cabo!
